Built in 1325, the Casa do Infante is named after Henrique, the Navigator. The building is one of the city’s oldest and was also once its largest, primarily due to the two towers built in the 14th century, which disappeared many years ago. This national monument has served different purposes over the centuries, as a residence for official visits by the royal family, as the old Customs house and Mint (Casa da Moeda) of Porto, whose services were based there for several centuries.
