Do I need to book a seat reservation? Seat reservations are not obligatory at Mount Rigi Railways. But if you are travelling in groups of 10 persons or more , we recommend that you secure your seats prior to arrival. There are several ways to get to Mount Rigi: By train: You can take the train to Arth-Goldau and use the cogwheel train from there. The Rigi Railway station is directly next to Arth-Goldau station. By boat: Weggis and Vitznau can be easily reached by boat from Lucerne in an hour. In Weggis, an approx. 15-minute walk takes you to the cable car station, which leads to Rigi Kaltbad. In Vitznau, the cogwheel train station is right next to the boat station. By car: There are paid parking spaces available in Vitznau, Weggis, Arth-Goldau and Kräbel (Rigi Scheidegg valley station).
