About

The Pope holds a General Audience most Wednesdays (subject to papal schedule), in St. Peter's Square or the Paul VI Audience Hall depending on season and weather.

The Pope delivers catechetical teachings in multiple languages, greets the crowd from the popemobile, and imparts the Apostolic Blessing.

Tickets are entirely free but required for seated and standing sections — request through the Prefecture of the Papal Household website. No tickets needed for the separate Sunday Angelus at noon, when the Pope appears from his apartment window for a short blessing lasting approximately 15 minutes.

Arrive early for the audience — it draws tens of thousands. Modest dress required.
