About

Located within St. Peter's Basilica in the corridor of the sacristy (left transept). Displays sacred artworks, liturgical vestments, papal tiaras, chalices and royal gifts accumulated over centuries.

Highlights include the Tomb of Sixtus IV by Antonio del Pollaiuolo, the Cross of Emperor Justin II (6th century), a historiated dalmatic from the Early Middle Ages, and a gilded metal rooster (9th century) that once adorned the bell tower of the original Constantinian Basilica. Photography prohibited.

Currently temporarily closed for renovation of the exhibition layout — the basilica itself remains accessible without reservation from the ordinary entrance in St. Peter's Square. Requires its own separate ticket through basilicasanpietro.va when open.
